A sense of place is something more than a single location. In this collection of images, this “place” is from the vantage point where I spend seven point six hours each week behind the wheel on my daily commute to work. Although a commute of some length, it is one of quaint New England scenic beauty, if not slightly spoilt by the blacktop highway. The images have been reduced to black and white to emphasize the peace and quiet I enjoy daily on this ride. It is a sensation that is singular to my daily experience of loud children at home and the commotion of the everyday high school experience, where I hear my name being called out for help at least every five minutes interchangeably. Yet, on this daily commute, it is a place, my place, that is one of quiet contemplation, meditation, and peace.
